TELESCOPE DESCRIPTION: The 12 meter telescope has been taken
over by the Steward Observatory as of August 1, 2000. The 12 meter
observatory is an advanced Millimeter wave radio telescope that operates
from 60GHz to 300GHz and offers, among many other features remote
observing possibilities. Now again open for business after NRAO decided
to close it down, it will enable researchers, scientists and educators
advanced our knowledge in the last astronomy frontier: millimeter
wave radio astronomy. [FULL DETAILS]
UPDATED SCHEDULES The observatory operates 24 hours per day,
365 days per year, except in the summer when high humidity stops
millimeter wave science and allows maintenance to take place. Observers must
apply for time, whether they reperesent educational institutions,
universities, research centers or other entities. Due to lack of
NSF funding, funding is only available for Arizona based entities [Click for

EDUCATIONAL
USE: This observatory
is also open for educational institutions, such as K-12, colleges
